Farcaster founder: Farcaster pays more attention to individuals than traditional social media, and personnel management takes precedence over content management in community management

According to BlockBeats, on September 17, Farcaster founder Dan Romero gave an opening speech at FarCon Asia, Asia’s first large-scale Farcaster ecosystem offline event:

I think authenticity is really important on Farcaster, maybe more so than on most social networks. People really care about people who they feel are authentic, and some of the bad habits from other social media are not welcome on Farcaster.

Farcaster is more personal, which I think resonates with what the early community wanted. Being yourself is actually more important than following a blog post like 10 social media tips for building a brand account. It’s like when you go to a party, introduce yourself first and then talk about what you’re working on, rather than talking about what you’re working on first and making yourself less important.

In terms of content management, I think people are actually not as sensitive to content management as they are to people management. Our new idea of community management is that we want to manage people, not content. I think this model gives people a warm feeling, more like a club. It is more like a group of users participating in, and users can create a common identity and build a real community. This will be the biggest change for Farcaster compared to previous competitors. We will release a set of tools designed to help people like channel administrators, so that they have more control over their own space.

FarCon Asia, the first large-scale offline Farcaster ecosystem event in Asia, is jointly organized by Tako Protocol, BlockBeats and Jam. The conference aims to deeply explore and showcase the innovative achievements of the Farcaster ecosystem and the future prospects of Web3 social networking, breaking the stereotype of one-way output in traditional financial encryption conferences. The FarCon Asia conference is expected to attract more than 500 participants, including Farcaster ecosystem builders, active Farcaster ecosystem users in Asia, VCs and well-known investors, senior researchers, etc.
